Angry WWE RAW Live Coverage - October 21st, 2024

Jey Uso defends Intercontinental Title against Bron Breakker

Tonight, Intercontinental Champion Jey Uso faces an enormous threat to his reign when he battles the man he dethroned for the title, Bron Breakker. Unable to accept that he lost his championship to Uso, Breakker looked to have moved on from “Main Event Jey,” but he viciously attacked Jey after his match against Xavier Woods two weeks ago. Can Jey Uso make it two-for-two against Bron Breakker?

    – The show opens with fans YEETING outside the arena and then we see Jey Uso and Bron Breakker arriving separately to the arena. We see officials bringing the Crown Jewel title into the arena. American Made is seen arriving and they run into Alpha Academy. Rey Mysterio and Dragon Lee arrive as well. We see Bronson Reed arriving but is taken out by Seth Rollins in the parking lot. Rollins takes out Reed and makes his way to the ring.

    – In the ring, Rollins calls out Reed and tells him to come down and fight. Adam Pearce and officials come out and tell Rollins to chill and officials start flying out of the back onto the ramp. Reed comes out and the security team tries to stop Reed and Rollins comes flying out of the ring with suicide dive. Rollins and Reed go at in the ring and Reed hits a Death Valley Driver and attempts a Tsunami but Rollins gets out of the way before Reed can take flight. Reed comes out of the ring and throws Rollins onto the announce table and beats on security as Rollins lays on the table. Reed throws a security guard off his shoulders on to the other guards and jumps off the barricade and Rollins moves and Reed crashes onto the announce table Tsunami-ing it. Officials and security are able to get control of what's happening and Wade Barrett and Joe Tessitore then start discussing the Women's Tag stories.

    – Jackie Redmond catches up with Iyo Sky and Kairi Sane. They say they'll become the tag champs before Liv and Raquel tell Redmond to screw off and talk into the camera calling out Nia Jax. Sky and Sane interrupt Liv and challenge Raquel and Liv.

WWE World Tag Team Championship No 1 Contenders Tournament: The New Day vs. AOP w/The Final Testament

Akam and Kingston begin the action. The bell rings and the two lock up. Woods tags in and Kingston delivers a splash to Akam using the top rope. Woods follows it up with an elbow drop and goes for a pin, but Akam kicks out. Kingston tags in and delivers a double stomp to Akam's arm as Woods holds him in place, then tags Woods back in. Woods connects with a double ax handle on Akam as Kingston holds him in place, but Akam levels Woods as Miz appears at ringside to watch the action.

Back from the break, Rezar has a Bear Hug cinched in Woods. Woods escapes and tags in Kingston, who lands a dropkick on Rezar and sends Akam crashing off the apron. Woods lands a tope suicida to level him on the outside before Kingston hits the Boom Drop on Rezar and sets up for Trouble In Paradise. Rezar catches him and connects with a Fallaway Slam as R-Truth attacks Miz on the outside and rains down right hands on him. He delivers a boot to Karrion Kross' face, opening the door for Kingston to roll up Rezar for the win.

    Winners: New Day

    – After the match, Truth celebrates Kingston and Woods' win with them. The Final Testament and Miz blindside Truth with an attack, and while Kingston looks to help Truth, Woods holds him back in the entrance ramp and tells him not to get invovled. The lights then go out, and when they come back on, The Wyatt Sicks (with the exception of Uncle Howdy) surround the ring and beats down Final Testament to provide a helping hand to Truth. Joe Gacy and Erick Rowan then powerbomb Dexter Lumis onto Authors of Pain and Karrion Kross and brawl through the crowd as Miz watches from the ring. Uncle Howdy sneaks up behind Miz, but Paul Ellering pushes him out of the ring. Uncle Howdy then locks in the Mandible Claw on Ellering and puts him to sleep.

    – Jackie Redmond is backstage talking to Adam Pearce and Bronson Reed walks up to him and Seth Rollins comes out of nowhere and attacks Reed - again, officials come and break them up.

    – We go back to look at last weeks SmackDown where Jey Uso confronts Solo Sikoa and his interaction with Roman Reigns and how everyone seems to be on opposing ends.

    – Cathy Kelley is backstage talking to Jey Uso and she asks about SmackDown and Uso says he has no love for his brothers right now and it is what it is, but tonight he's focused on his match with Bron Breakker.

    – A video package for Raquel Rodriguez plays where she talks about how she isn't allowing Rhea Ripley to get Liv's title. She tells Ripley to walk away and since Ripley won't end this, she will.

    – The Crown Jewel title is being escorted around backstage.

    – Back at ringside, Damage CTRL make their way out. Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez follow, and Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson are at ringside to watch the action.

Damage CTRL vs. Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez

Morgan and IYO SKY begin the action. The bell rings and Morgan tags out to Rodriguez. SKY locks Rodriguez in a Sleeper, but Rodriguez fights her off. Kairi Sane makes the blind tag in and connects with a hurricanrana on Rodriguez before she tags SKY back in. SKY and Sane look to land a double suplex on Rodriguez, but Rodriguez blocks them and looks to land a double elbow drop on them. Sane and SKY roll out of the way.

Back from the break, Rodriguez has Sane locked in a submission over one of her shoulders. Sane escapes and looks to tag in SKY, but Rodriguez blocks her. SKY manages to tag in Sane as Rodriguez tags out to Morgan. SKY connects with a dropkick on Morgan, then lands a second one off the top rope and kips up. She hits a meteora on Morgan in the corner and goes for a pin, but Morgan kicks out.

SKY lands a bodyslam on Morgan, then tags in Sane. Sane immediately tags out to SKY, then lands an elbow drop on Morgan with some assistance from SKY. SKY then goes for a pin, but Rodriguez breaks the fall and sends Sane crashing into the mat face first. She charges at her in the corner, but Sane moves out of the way and Rodriguez is sent crashing into the ring post shoulder first.

Morgan delivers a step-up knee to SKY in the corner, then looks to fly off the middle rope. SKY intercepts her with a strike, then lands a dropkick off the apron and pulls Jackson into the ringside area. Legend clocks her with a strike causing the disqualification, but Sane goes after her and dumps her in the ring with SKY.

Winners: N/A (disqualification due to outside interference)

    – After the match, Jackson and Legend beat down Damage CTRL. Legend delivers a Lash Extension to SKY, but Morgan and Rodriguez stare them down. Rhea Ripley's music then hits, and she makes her way out to ringside. She cinches in the Prism Trap on Morgan and sets up for Riptide, but Dominik Mysterio saves Morgan. Ripley pulls Dominik in the ring and locks in the Prism Trap on him, but Rodriguez and Morgan pull him out of the ring to save him.

    – We then head backstage and see Seth "Freakin" Rollins approach Adam Pearce backstage. Bronson Reed blindsides him, but security pulls them apart and a frustrated Pearce makes a match between them at WWE Crown Jewel official.

    – LWO then makes their way out to the ring.

WWE World Tag Team Championship No 1 Contenders Tournament: LWO vs American Made

Julius Creed and Dragon Lee begin the action. The bell rings and the two lock up. Rey Mysterio tags in and Julius gets him in a delayed vertical suplex position. He sends him crashing into the mat, then tags in Brutus Creed. Julius sends Brutus crashing into Rey, then connects with the Brutus Smash on him and tags Julius back in. Julius gets Rey in an Electric Chair position, but Rey fights his way out and holds the middle rope open for Lee to fly and level The Creed Brothers on the outside.

Back from the break, Rey lands a hurricanrana on Brutus and delivers an enzuigiri to him from the apron. He follows it up with a senton from the top rope, then goes for a pin but Brutus kicks out. Lee dumps Brutus out of the ring and ascends to the top, but Julius intercepts him. Lee drapes him from the top rope, then delivers a double stomps to him.

Rey dropkicks Julius into the ropes and looks to dial it up for a 619. Gable hops up on the apron and captures his attention, but Vega gets in their faces and delivers a tijeras to Nile. This opens the door for Rey to deliver a hurricanrana to Julius into the ropes and dial it up for a 619. Lee then tags in and delivers a Frog Splash to Julius for the win.

    Winners: LWO

    – Adam Pearce is backstage with Damage CTRL and he says he will take care of what happened with Meta-Girls. They leave and Carlito comes in and asks for Dom to be the next challenger for Gunther. Pearce says if Dom can beat a former champion he will give Dom a title shot.

    – Jackie Redmond is backstage with Bron Breakker. She asks him if he's confident for his match seeing how Uso is also preoccupied with family drama. Breakker says this is why he will be champ again.

    – Cathy Kelley is backstage with Gunther. She asks Gunther about Rhodes' invitation to SmackDown. Gunther says Rhodes is messy bringing people who don't need to be involved. He says Rhodes is one of many unlike him because everything he touches turns to gold and he will be at SmackDown. Damian Priest comes by and says he has no issue with Gunther and he's going to earn his spot as Gunther's next challenger.

WWE Intercontinental Championship Match: Jey Uso (c) vs. Bron Breakker

The bell rings and the two men stare each other down. They then fire off right hands on one another, but Jey connects with an open palm strike on Breakker and clotheslines him out of the ring.

Back from the break, Breakker mocks Jey and sends him crashing into the ring post spine first. He sends head bouncing off the ring apron, then dumps him back in the ring and whips him into the corner. He connects with a standing Shooting Star Press on Jey, but Jey responds with an enzuigiri from the apron and looks to fly off the ropes. Breakker intercepts him with a Frankenstiener and pins Jey, but Jey kicks out.

Back from another break, Jey notices Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu emerge from the crowd. Sikoa holds up one of Jey's Yeet shirts and shows off the tickets he bought for himself and Fatu. Jey asks Sikoa what he's doing, and Sikoa says he's trying to help him retain the Intercontinental Championship. Breakker looks to blindside Jey from behind, but Jey sees him coming.

Jey sends Breakker crashing into the ring post head first as Tanga Loa appears behind Jey to encourage him. Jey lands a superkick on him and takes down Tama Tonga with another one when he looks to fly off the barricade to level him. Breakker look to blindside Jey with a spear, but Sikoa pushes Jey out of the way and takes the spear for him.

Breakker lands a jumping knee on Jey and dumps him back in the ring, but Fatu stares down Breakker. Jey levels them both with a tope suicida, then ascends to the top and looks to land an Uso Splash. Breakker gets his knees up and runs the ropes. He looks to land the Super Spear, but Jey connects with a pair of superkicks and a spear. He ascends to the top and lands an Uso Splash on Breakker, then goes for a pin but Breakker kicks out.

Adam Pearce and other officials run down to the ring to escort Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa to the back. Jey looks to land a spear on Jey, but Fatu clocks him and delivers a Samoan Drop to him on top of the announce desk. Breakker then dumps Jey back in the ring and runs the ropes before delivering the Super Spear for the win.

Winner and NEW WWE Intercontinental Champion: Bron Breakker

    – Breakker celebrates in the ring, as Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu exit the ring area and the show goes off the air.
