As noted earlier, Hulk Hogan released a statement to People.com today apologizing for the racist comments that were revealed by RadarOnline and The National Enquirer. Hogan's lawyer David Houston told People that Hogan actually resigned from WWE. He said:
"He decided to resign from WWE because he didn't want to put them or his family through this."
We noted earlier that WWE issued their own statement saying they terminated Hogan's contract.
With the exception of the tweet Hogan made at 1am on Friday, he's been pretty quiet on social media. He did re-tweet a comment from a fan saying the black community still supports Hogan but that has since been deleted. Hogan's also been thanking some of his supporters on Twitter.
