Back in the summer, Andy Douglas (the dark-haired one) of the former TNA tag team The Naturals posted a message on his MySpace page (
www.myspace.com/andydouglas) saying that they were getting a tryout match with WWE at the September 17th Raw in Nashville, TN. They were going to work in Nashville specifically because that's their hometown. Here is the original message that was posted:
"Well it has finally been confirmed. Monday, September 17th, the Naturals get their shot at the WWE. We just found out that we get our dark match (try out match) on WWE Raw in Nashville on the 17th. So any and all fans that will be in the Nashville area on that day, please feel free to come down to WWE Raw and give us all the support that all of you have continued to give us over the last 5 years. Thank you all for this support, here on Myspace, during our career with TNA, and all the support from our fans at the local Indy shows. Thank you."
However, people from within WWE do indeed troll the internet wrestling websites and they quickly found out that he had announced his tryout in public on his MySpace page. When WWE found out about this, they reportedly called off the tryout. Chase Stevens, his blonde-haired tag team partner, was said to be really angry about this. The post was removed from Douglas' MySpace rather quickly as well, so there was definitely something to the story at the time.
Last night's Raw in Nashville, TN came and went and a slew of different, yet familiar faces wrestled in matches prior to the Raw taping due to the lack of depth on the roster from suspensions. Hardcore Holly, Ron Simmons, K.C. James and even Johnny Parisi aka Johnny Swinger worked matches prior to the live Raw taping. The Naturals are nowhere to be found in the taping results. So well, a conclusion can be made that the WWE tryout match in their hometown was indeed called off after the MySpace post from Douglas.
They were released from their TNA contracts back in May due to their failure to get over with the fans after numerous opportunities. They still have ties to TNA as they occasionally appear on house shows, but strictly as non-contracted enhancement talent to put over contracted TNA talent.
