Catherine Bach played Daisy Duke alongside John Schneider and Tom Wopat in Dukes of Hazzard and she was known for her famous denim shorts that showed off her legs and gorgeous slender figure back then.
The 70-year-old recently had a chat with Fox News Digital at her co-star John’s wedding at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Museum. She addressed the possibility of a reboot and why one has stalled for so long. She admitted to being shocked about reuniting with John at the ceremony as she never saw such an occasion coming.
Nearly four decades later, Bach still wears her shorts to garden, or going to the beach, as they still fit just right. Interestingly, she did not want to play Daisy despite getting an audition invite from those in charge of casting. She recalled how they went to different cities including New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Georgia and California, but could hardly find someone.
Thankfully, Bach’s friend encouraged her to overcome her doubt and give it a shot at Warner Bros. She instantly got the role after her first reading attempt, and was well on her way to having her Hollywood career established. She also starred in other successful productions like The Last Fight and Cannonball Run II alongside Burt Reynolds.
Bach gets candid about a future reboot
Bach believes a reboot could happen if the important things such as the idea, the script, the cast and the crew came together nicely; however, that has yet to happen. Since she, John and Wopat are still alive, Bach is refusing to rule out a future Dukes Of Hazzard revival.
The trio have been present at fan events and conventions over the years including the General Lee reunion, Hazzard Homecoming, Dukes Fest and last year’s Gallatin Comic Con in Tennessee where they reunited with other castmates Byron Cherry, Jeff Altman and Rick Hurst.
