WWE has announced that Roman Reigns will be making a rare WWE house show appearance this weekend.

Reigns hasn’t worked a match since WrestleMania 39 last month in LA when he surprisingly retained his Undisputed WWE Universal Title over Cody Rhodes in the main event of the second night of the show. Many people, including oddsmakers, expected him to drop the title before going on hiatus, but WWE had different plans.

The following night on Raw, Reigns was slated to team with Solo Sikoa against Rhodes and Brock Lesnar, but Lesnar turned heel by attacking Rhodes, leading to their feud. Reigns returned to WWE television last week on SmackDown to set up a match that will pit him and Sikoa against Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles at Night of Champions on May 27 in Saudi Arabia.

The Crown Complex announced that Reigns would wrestle at WWE's house show in Fayetteville, North Carolina, on Saturday, May 20.

His last appearance in the city came over four years ago. He hasn’t wrestled at a live event since defending the Undisputed WWE Universal Title against Sami Zayn on March 4 in Toronto at the Coca-Cola Coliseum.

As of this writing, WWE has not announced a match for Reigns at Saturday's house show.

The venue is advertising Cody Rhodes vs. Finn Balor and Raw Women's Champion Bianca Belair defending against Asuka & Bayley in a triple threat match. Rhea Ripley & The Judgement Day, The Bloodline, Rey Mysterio, Bobby Lashley, Matt Riddle, Raquel Rodriguez & Liv Morgan, and Imperium are advertised to appear.
