Roxanne Perex was in no mood for comments from the "hypocrite" CM Punk after retaining the NXT Women's Championship at Battleground 2024.

In arguably the most anticipated match of the evening, Perez faced off against TNA Knockouts World Champion Jordynne Grace. The match saw Tatum Paxley and TNA's Ash By Elegance get involved as both women tried to get their hands on Grace's title. After 'Big Mama Pump' dispatched of both women, Perez was able to hit Pop Rox to get the win and retain her gold.

In a WWE NXT Digital Exclusive, Perez was furious at the notion that her victory over Grace was something of a surprise. That was when CM Punk arrived and made clear that for as good as The Prodigy is, she got lucky at Battleground thanks to the outside antics that distracted Jordynne Grace. Punk told Perez to focus on the NXT Women's title and being herself and doesn't need anything else.

Perez was clearly not on board with what Punk had to say. The WWE NXT Women's Champion sarcastically thanked Punk for the advice before adding "What a hypocrite" and walking off. Punk was baffled by Perez's response and asked if she's always this way.

This interaction is especially cutting considering the context between Perez and Punk. Roxanne's fandom for CM Punk is no secret and she (alongside Cora Jade) consider Punk to be her wrestling 'dad.' Similarly, Perez has a lot of love for her wrestling 'mom' AJ Lee who was one of the inspirations for Perez to step in the ring.
