WWE Hall Of Famer Shawn Michaels recently appeared as the first guest on the new podcast of former WWE, WCW and TNA head writer Vince Russo, “The Brand,” which is available right now at PodcastOne.com.

During his appearance on the show, HBK shared a story about some advice he received from the late, great WWE Hall Of Famer “Rowdy” Roddy Piper.

Michaels explained that Piper told him early in his career that the follow-up to a main event program in the wrestling business is potentially more important than the main event itself. HBK noted that this is “something that the WWE clearly struggles with today.”

Additionally, Michaels explained why he never listened to fans when it came to his matches.

“I don’t listen to fans … fans listen to me. I’m the wrestler,” said Michaels. “They don’t tell me what to do. Nobody is going to tell me if my match was good – I TELL ME if my match was good!”
