The Times of India reported that one person was hurt in the shooting incident involving former WWE World champion The Great Khali yesterday. That number, if correct, would be down from the initially three wounded that was reported last night.
Punjab Vidhan Sabha deputy speaker Sat Pal Gosain, who Khali was visiting, stated that the incident took place after Khali was leaving. He told the Times that Khali's car was "besieged" by a crowd seeking autographs, which is what led to the incident. He claimed one of the crowd tried to grab a bodyguard's gun, which is what led to the firing.
The crowd was allegedly 40 strong, while Khali was said to have been accompanied by "15 bodyguards."
Gauravjeet Singh, the one identified injured person, noted that he has filed charges but was being "pressurized to go in for a compromise."
