3-Time TNT Champion Wardlow hasn't had a match in All Elite Wrestling in almost three months. Having last fought then-AEW World Champion Samoa Joe in a title match on Dynamite's "Big Bu$iness" special. Since then, talks of Wardlow's frustration and potential departure from AEW have continued. Adding gas to the fire, whether intentionally or not, is the news of Wardlow filing a trademark for his name "Wardlow."

According to a new filing from the United States Patent and Trademark Office, the trademark covers physical products, including shirts and hats, while also general "entertainment" purposes,

For: Bandanas; Hats; Hooded sweatshirts; Pants; Shirts; Socks; Sweatshirts

"Entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests; Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibits and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer; Entertainment services, namely, storytelling; Providing online interviews featuring a professional wrestler and sports entertainer in the field of professional wrestling and sports entertainment for entertainment purposes; Providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; Entertainment services, namely, live, televised and movie appearances by a professional entertainer."

It should be noted that "Wardlow" is not just the Ohio native's ring name; it's also his surname. His full name is Michael Austin Wardlow.

Former AEW World Champion Maxwell Jacob Friedman made his surprise return at the recent Double or Nothing pay-per-view from Las Vegas. The self-proclaimed "Salt of The Earth" made it clear that he was not only back and better than ever, but also 'All Elite' for the long haul with a tattoo to back it up.

Shortly following the release of MJF's new "Lone Wolf" theme gear, a former ally turned rival Wardlow was not happy, to say the least. In an intense post on social media, Wardlow held nothing back regarding his feelings on his former associate.

“He wants to be a 6’3 270lb monster athlete so bad. Now stealing my whole identity? Call yourself the “lone wolf” all you want. you’re still just a p***y that I squashed like nothing. Almost feel bad for the little boy, but the disrespect has gone too far for too long.”

From the "Face of the Revolution" in 2022 to barely on the card. Wardlow's run in AEW has certainly had its ups and downs.

Fans have expressed their desire to see Wardlow do more in All Elite Wrestling. Wardlow has shown that to be a quality talent that fans like to get behind when booked properly. Could AEW be planning something special for the war machine in the future? We will have to wait and see. Until then, Wardlow will remain a stand-in member of The Undisputed Kingdom faction.
