One of the most popular, yet briefly stinted Star Wars villains in history, Darth Maul is making a comeback but it’s probably not how you imagined it to be.

Darth Maul made his debut in Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace in 1999, a movie in the iconic series that isn't viewed as favourably as other entries, but it did at least have some plus points such as the aforementioned Darth Maul, but also Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi and Liam Neeson as Qui-Gon Jinn.

Despite meeting what we thought was a gruesome end in The Phantom Menace, somehow, Darth Maul survived, but his story of redemption or lack thereof is sadder than we may think it to be. Oh, and we also know Darth Maul’s real name and that’s quite underwhelming too.

Darth Maul has appeared in some animated series mostly as a prelude to The Phantom Menace, but if you wanted more of this iconic villain for keeps, then you might be interested in this newly announced series. Just keep in mind that it’s not a movie or TV series, but is instead part of a new collection of action figures from Hasbro.

As reported by cbr.com, Darth Maul is getting a new action figure as part of the Star Wars: The Black Series and he will also be joined by Andor’s (based on the upcoming second season) K-2SO as a new The Vintage Collection toy.

“Sent by the evil Darth Sidious, Darth Maul delivered a fatal blow to Qui-Gon Jinn with his double-bladed Lightsaber during the Battle of Naboo,” reads the description of the new action figure.

“This six-inch scale figure is detailed to look like Darth Maul from the first film in the prequel trilogy, Star Wars: The Phantom Menace,” it continues. “Comes with his signature double-bladed Lightsaber accessory which can be taken apart. Display Star Wars fandom on your shelf with window box packaging featuring a sleek character design.”

The upcoming Darth Maul action figure will have an RRP of around £20 to £24 and K-2SO of around £15 to £17. Both will be released around winter time this year and will be available wherever you buy your action figures.
