A Burger King ad campaign designed for the European market featuring a Mexican wrestler (Possibly Rey Misterio) draped in the country's flag has been pulled after complaints from Mexico decrying that the campaign perpetrated Mexican stereotypes and improperly featured usage of the country's flag.

The ad campaign, designed for a "Texican whopper" also featured an American cowboy.

"Burger King Corporation has made the decision to revise the Texican Whopper advertising creative out of respect for the Mexican culture and its people," read a statement issued by the fast food corporation today.

The complaints over the ad campaign were picked up today by The Associated Press and a number of other major media outlets.
