WWE's Drew McIntyre shocked fans with a return to Insane Championship Wrestling, a mere 24 hours ahead of his match at WWE Clash At The Castle: Scotland.

McIntyre appeared at ICW's After Hours to a huge ovation from the crowd in Glasgow, Scotland. Chants of "Welcome Home" rang out as McIntyre appeared poised to fight ICW World Champion Jack Jester who was in the ring. Instead, the two men embraced, earning another cheer from the crowd.

The Scottish Warrior will challenge WWE World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest at WWE Clash At The Castle: Scotland. Despite being a former WrestleMania main eventer, this is being considered the biggest match of McIntyre's career given the location. The event will be WWE's first Premium Live Event in Scotland, something that Drew has personally been fighting for over years as a WWE Superstar.

Insane Championship Wrestling became a regular home for McIntyre following his release from WWE in June 2014. McIntyre's roots in the promotion go far deeper than that; however, in October 2006, he competed at the inaugural ICW show 'Fear and Loathing.'

Upon returning to ICW in 2014, McIntyre feuded with Jack Jester and his second ICW Heavyweight Title reign came by defeating Jester in November that year. It was McIntyre's efforts in this reign, defending across various counties, that saw the promotion be rechristened the ICW World Heavyweight Championship.

In 2018, McIntyre was inducted into the ICW Hall of Fame for his contributions to the promotion. Now, on the cusp of what could be his biggest win in WWE, Drew McIntyre hasn't forgotten his roots with Insane Championship Wrestling.
