Report from Cyber Sunday Press Conference

I just returned from the Cyber Sunday press conference and have some thoughts to share with you.

I arrived at 11:15 AM and saw that the line was already about 40-50 people long. We stood out there and WWE did some pretapes to be aired as part of tonight's RAW, getting shots of and interviews with some fans. Around 11:50, we were all taken to the restaurant on the second floor where the press conference was held. By the time it started at about 10 minutes past noon, at least 100 people had showed up.

Coachman came out first and did his usual gimmick about the fans having the pleasure of seeing him. Then he went over the Champion of Champions match and the Orton/Edge vs DX match and then brought out Edge. Edge then said he had a prepared statement but didn't need it and threw it to the ground. After that, he ran down DX saying that just like the Bengals last year in the playoffs (which got a lot of who-dey chants in response), DX was going down.

Randy Orton was then introduced and he basically called Triple H out, saying that the future was not HHH, it was with he and Edge. He said Cincinnati would remember November 5th as the day DX's legend was killed.

After this, Ric Flair came out and made a lot of sexual innuendos (at least I believed them to be), before saying that regardless of who the fans picked to team with him in his match with the Spirit Squad, he was going to walk out of town as World Tag Team Champion.

Coach went to intro King Booker but Queen Sharmell interrupted saying she wanted to do it herself. So, of course, that means we were subjected to her saying at least 3 times, "All Hail King Booker!" Ugh. Booker came out, ran down Cincinnati fans, and said that he would walk out of Cyber Sunday as Champion of Champions.

Big Show comes out, and before he took the mic, of course, an "E-C-W" chant broke out. He then said that he broke things, and at Cyber Sunday, someone was going to be broken and he would be the Champion of Champions.

John Cena was last and he said he did not want to talk about what he would do. He put over Cincy as a "great sports town", naming legends such as Johnny Bench, Pete Rose, Boomer Esiason, and Anthony Munoz. He also said that November 5th, fans in Cincinnati would be able to say that they were there for the first ever Champion of Champions match.

Coach closed it out by thanking the fans for coming and inviting local media to stay for one-on-one interviews, and reminded us of RAW at 9 and Cyber Sunday this weekend.
