The talk of the professional wrestling world this past weekend was the medical outbreak in the WWE locker room that forced the company to make major last-second changes to Sunday’s Tables Ladders and Chairs pay-per-view.
Roman Reigns was originally slated to reunite with his Shield brothers Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose to take on the team of The Miz, Braun Strowman, Sheamus, Cesaro and Kane. “The Big Dog” unfortunately fell ill after catching the illness that had spread throughout the locker room, which led WWE Chairman Vince McMahon to make the call for Kurt Angle to wrestle in his place.
Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio has confirmed that Reigns has contracted the mumps, a contagious viral disease. Reigns, along with anyone else who was infected, will be evaluated next Monday (October 30th) to see if they are fit to return to action.
Reigns will definitely miss tonight’s episode of RAW and there’s a strong possibility he could be missing next week as well. Meltzer also noted that there is a fear that more Superstars could still get affected by the condition.
