AEW looks like it’s going to be Swerve Strickland’s house for years to come as the former World Champion inked a new deal with the company.

Strickland happened to sign his new AEW deal on air with Tony Khan observing and Fightful Select has some new details of what that new deal entails.

According to the report, the contract is a multi-year deal that will keep Strickland around AEW at least through 2028. This is reportedly one of the biggest deals in AEW history.

Sources have praised Swerve for the work he has done not just in the ring, but out of the ring as well when it comes to making appearances and doing interviews.

Bryan Danielson actually had very high praise for Swerve following his main event match with Strickland at ALL IN. During the post-show media scrum in London, Danielson commended on the talent of Strickland not just as a performer, but as an ambassador for the company as a whole.

Strickland and Danielson duked it out big time in the main event at Wembley and it was Danielson who came out on top, being the first wrestler to force Strickland to submit when he locked him in the LaBell Lock.

Swerve first signed with AEW back in 2022. That initial deal was set to keep him through March of 2025, but now this new deal locks the star in for the foreseeable future. Current plans are to keep Strickland at the top of the card.
