Former WWE & UFC champion Ronda Rousey is living her best life in retirement.

The 'Baddest Woman on the Planet' won an Olympic medal in judo at the 2008 summer games before becoming a pro Mixed Martial Arts fighter in August 2010. She was the first woman to sign with the UFC in November 2012 and was a trailblazer in that respect, bringing women's MMA to the mainstream. She went on to have a record-setting title reign as Women's Bantamweight Champion and 'left her gloves in the cage' in December 2016.

Rousey would later transition to professional wrestling. After a few cameo appearances, she signed a full-time WWE contract in January 2017. She'd take breaks for injuries and for pregnancy and the birth of her daughter, La’akea Makalapuaokalanip, in September 2021.

She finished up with WWE this past summer, when Shayna Baszler lived up to her word and ran Rousey out of WWE.

Rousey has stayed out of the public eye since then, but does keep fans apprised of her 'civilian life' on social media. On Wednesday, Rousey posted a few photos on Instagram with her husband and daughter.

She quoted the fictional character Bernie Lumen from the Disney/Pixar animated film, "Elemental" (2023) and wrote:

“Sorry, I couldn’t hear you through my retirement."

In an industry where 'never say never' has rung true countless times, Rousey could always get the itch to lace up her wrestling boots again some day. Based on this Bernie Lumen retirement quote, don't expect to see her back in the squared circle any time soon.

Ronda Rousey is an icon of the UFC and WWE, so you can be sure we haven't seen the last of her. If and when she does resurface, it will be on her terms.
