JUST IN TIME FOR CHRISTMAS, VINCE MCMAHON GETS A NICE CHUNK OF CHANGE
WWE just released the following on the business wire. As the (by far) majority stockholder, Vince McMahon just got a lot of money to spend on Christmas presents!
World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. Declares Quarterly Dividend
STAMFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. (NYSE:WWE) announced that its board of directors today declared the Company’s regular quarterly dividend of $0.24 per share on all Class A and Class B common stock. The record date for the dividend will be December 15, 2006 and the payment date will be December 26, 2006. In connection with the previously announced change in the Company’s fiscal year-end to a calendar year basis beginning with calendar year 2007, we have moved the record and payment dates earlier by approximately two weeks.

As is usual the guy who built the industry on his vision and carried it on his shoulders and took amazing risks gets exactly what he deserves. Vince gets a lot of heat, but he deserves every penny he makes. The business would still be a circus sideshow act working territories if it wasn't for Vince Mcmahon.
