On Wednesday, The Wrap reported that EVOLVE Wrestling will celebrate their 10th Anniversary by holding a show on July 13th at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, PA. WWE’s streaming service, WWE Network, will air the event at 8 PM ET that night.
EVOLVE 131 will feature a host of WWE and NXT talent on the card. This includes Adam Cole defending the NXT Championship against Akira Tozawa and Matt Riddle taking on WWE Cruiserweight Champion Drew Gulak in a non-title match.
EVOLVE Champion Austin Theory, EVOLVE Tag Champs Joe Gacy and Eddie Kingston are advertised to appear at the show. WWE has a working relationship with EVOLVE.
This is interesting as AEW holds their Fight for the Fallen event on the same night (July 13) from Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, Florida. This is a charity event as the event’s proceeds will be donated to victims of gun violence.
This isn’t the first time that WWE will be airing a show on the same day as an AEW event. NXT UK TakeOver: Cardiff will take place on Saturday, August 31 and air live on the WWE Network at 3pm ET from Cardiff, Wales.
The second AEW (All Elite Wrestling) pay-per-view event, All Out, will take place at the Sears Centre in Chicago, IL that night. This NXT UK pay-per-view event will air just a few hours before All Out. WWE’s show should be over by the time that AEW starts to broadcast.
